Becketts’ client succeeds in changing the Board of Mount Rommel Mining Limited following urgent Court proceedings

Becketts advised a major shareholder of Mount Rommel Mining Limited (Mount Rommel), a Victorian gold explorer which was publicly listed until last year, in relation to the appointment of new Directors to the Board of Mount Rommel through a shareholder requisitioned Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) which was opposed by Mount Rommel’s previous Chairman.

The EGM took place on 9 April 2021 after a successful urgent application to the Supreme Court of Victoria for orders requiring Mount Rommel and its existing Board to hold the EGM. Becketts’ client and other shareholders keen to see a fresh approach to the management of Mount Rommel were successfully elected to the Board of Mount Rommel.
